Mr. Perry, I ask what doors of opportunity are open under Tyler Perry’s INK-Well?

Hello Mr. Perry,
It is my hope this Note finds you well, and in good spirits.
For sake of time, I will do my best to make this Note as short and concise as possible.  First thank U for sharing your talent with the world and giving us moments of laughter, moments of tears, and moment of sheer inspiration.  Most of all Mr. Perry, thank U for those moments when U used your talent to hold a mirror to our faces, forcing us to revisit the consequences of our deeds.

There are very few theatrical shows capable of inciting self reflection and self examination; I will add, especially within our community.  You know that community, where bullets fly like eagle through the sky, missing sometimes but other times hitting innocent passerby's.  You know that community where the so called minorities are truly the majority and they (whoever they be) feed us lies, like politicians take bribes.

You know that community where poverty and crime is described every evening on the five o’clock news, where Lethrelle did a drive by, Monesha stole a ten dollar bag of weave, and Georgedella just had her third child and she’s only seventeen. You know that community.    There are few if any shows which allow us to visit true issues with a comedic twist in our community. Cause we all know we gots’ta laugh to keep from crying.

Then again as our old friend once said “I am talking to the man in the mirror, I’m asking him to change his ways; and no message could be any clearer; U’ve gotta look at yourself, and make that change.”  Mr. Perry, for many in our community your shows and plays are the mirror; your dialog is the message and your body of work causes us to look at ourselves; I simply hope we will look long enough and hard enough to make that change.
Now let’s get to the meat and potatoes of this note.  Mr. Perry, have U considered a Tyler Perry Writing Challenge?  I wrote U a year ago, on this same date, asking this same question to no avail. Then again, all I have is Local Television and Internet Television, U know (Hulu & Netflix).

Nonetheless, as I was saying before digressing; there must be multitudes of writers out here wishing for, hoping for, and working for or toward publication, and acknowledgment. You know acknowledgment of their creative genius; but they lack the opportunity which usually meets preparation, but for some reason preparation took a vacation and did not leave a forwarding email address or a, “I am out of the office indefinitely” message. I know there must be thousands of young as well as older men and women itching at a chanced opportunity to work with U or to be evaluated by U.  So Mr. Perry, I ask what doors of opportunity are open under Tyler Perry’s INK-Well?

Me personally I have only one published poem, but more than a few thousand Sista-quotes, Sista-poems, Sista-ponderings and Sista-social views, that lay here in unopened envelopes; some are certified return receipt mail, cause I take my “Poor Woman’s Copyrights” serious.  To be honest Mr. Perry I write very, very well and I would love the challenge of a writing contest, something which allows me to stretch and grow as a writer.

In high school I had and English instructor who upon entering the class room wrote a single phrase or sentence, and we the students had the first ten minute of class to write a; one page, narrow ruler, back and front, hand written story or poem beginning with that one single phrase or sentence.  I loved it, because it challenged me and I am always at my best when challenged…  If you are anything like me, being a September 14th Virgo like me, then you also offer your best work when challenged.

Mr. Tyler Perry I, Kim Daniel aka SistaSistaSister, am challenging you to put together a writing contest for the hundreds of thousands of fans and admirers who have followed you over the years and Mr. Perry make the contest so well known, that even us, none cable television people (me) who only view their computer screens, will know Tyler Perry is challenging all novice and prolific writers to an out of the box into the ink-well writing contest.

I haven’t written a play since I was seventeen.  I won first place, three years straight.  My job after winning was production direction and starting in my own play.  Back then and even now I was/am a behind the scenes person, but vacation bible school was no joke.  “You better standup for the LORD and do that thing”, as Sistah So-N-So said, the day I said, I’ll be in the background. Why did I say that?  But that’s a tale for another day.

Anywho, Mr. Perry, if you would like to view my scribbling’s beyond this long/short note, you are welcome to follow my links below, and read me from beginning to end.  A friend told me my writings are like the KODAK MOMENT of words.  Well I don’t know about all of that, but I do know sometimes I shock myself.  So stop by, take a look, and let me know.  I have no problems with constructive criticism, and I have no problem being in boxed…
In the meantime
Namaste Mr. Perry
Best Regards Kim Daniel aka SistaSistaSister

Sista's Poem for Lisa Kristine's Photos That Bear Witness To Modern Slavery

Images so strong and sorrow so deep,
I am frozen in the limitation of my words,
A vocabulary so insufficient to capture the screams
Inside of me that bleed insufficiently through my fingers
Please let us end slavery, how much more inhumane
Can we be, this lost, this greedy, and so blind
We cannot see these are Hue-man's just as U and Me.
As I viewed the images on my screen,
Part of me said thank U it wasn't Me,
But don't U see, that thinking is
What is wrong with this entire thing
We view ourselves separately
I am not U and U are not Me, but if there be
But one CREATOR whom created U and Me,
Then that creative energy is the same in U as well as Me.
Now think this thing through
If the CREATOR/CREATIVE ENERGY
Dwells in U and In me too, then surely Creation/CREATOR
Dwells in the enslaved of this mini-documentary.

Forty-Acres & A John Deer

Forty-Acres & A John Deer

U.N. Report Chastises U.S. for Status of Native Population:
Where is the U.N. Report Chastising the U.S for its Status of African Americans, starting from the wronging of John Punch 1640 to the convict leasing laws of 1865, onward to the Jim Crow Laws of 1876, inciting the riotous destruction of Black Wall Street and other towns and cities in the red hot summer of 1919, leading to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, as well the Redlining and Zoning Laws of the late 1970's and let us not forget the present Privatization of Prisons and other subject matters brought to light by Michelle Alexander’s Book "The New Jim Crow".
Slavery has not ended, inquire of the 13th amendment of the U.S. constitution or better yet examine U.S. drug laws and sentencing. Surely the U.N. can see as I see and recognize there is reason to chastise the U.S. on behalf of all descendants of enslaved Africans in America. Surely our timelines cross, as our bloodlines mix.  Did the U.N. not see us?
How could the U.N. Chastises on behalf of one and not the other.  Seems like a respect of persons or better stated a disrespect of persons.  Do not get me wrong I possess the lineage of the indigenous of America (proven) as well as the heritage of enslaved Africans in America, thus I am grateful for the United Nations chastisement of the U.S. on behalf of my Native American Families, for this gesture is long overdue.
However, it baffles me that the U.N. did not examine the timeline and validate the wrong besieged upon Africans in America and all their offspring, be-they Native & Black, White & Black or African & African-American.  It seems no-one other than African Americans (Black-Folks) are sending out the battle cry of restitution for services rendered, for centuries of free labor.
Black People have been the bottom man on the totem-pole, the foundation, the strong back, nibble fingers, and enduring labor, of American capitalism. The U.N. report submitted by James Anaya, United Nations Official to the U.S. Government Washington D.C. September 20 2012
Excerpt 1: "The Special Rapporteur concludes that indigenous peoples in the United States – including American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian peoples – constitute vibrant communities that have contributed greatly to the life of the country; yet they face significant challenges that are related to widespread historical wrongs, including broken treaties and acts of oppression, and misguided government policies, that today manifest themselves in various indicators of disadvantage and impediments to the exercise of their individual and collective rights.”
Now doesn’t this read like a slogan for “POST TRAUMATIC COLONIZATION, LAND-GRABBING and TRAIL OF TEARS SYNDROME”?
Not to take away from my Indigenous Family yet on behalf of my African-American roots, the question is how do they dismiss the plight of Black African-Americans?  [Black African-Americans too] "constitute vibrant communities that have contributed greatly to the life of the country; yet they face significant challenges that are related to widespread historical wrongs, including broken treaties and acts of oppression, and misguided government policies, that today manifest themselves in various indicators of disadvantage and impediments to the exercise of their individual and collective rights."  How do they not apply these very words to the disenfranchised African American (Black) People?
Perhaps no within the U.N. acquainted themselves with the works of Dr. Joy DeGruy-Leary “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome”. We as Africans in America are again overlooked.  No chastisement on behalf of the formally enslaved African-American Population, thus no reparations, no 40 acres and a mule, no newly revamped government policies or money earmarked for our disadvantages or ongoing impediments limiting the exercise of  our individual and collective rights.  The same 400 year study by the United Nations, which brought about the chastisement upon the United States, should also reflect our 400 years.
We the descendants of Africans brought to the America’s for chatteled enslavement go without mention, as our U.S. President Barack Obama has now earmarked funds and enacted policies that will improve the status of my Native American Families, leaving my African-American Families a contending under-class, as we the working classed and many of the imprisoned continue shoring-up capitalistic America;
I'm just asking?
Sincerely,
Sista SistaSister

My Thought for the Day Copyright © 2010

Sometimes we stumble;
Sometimes faith is betrayed;
Sometimes the mistakes we make
are the stones it takes, to build a pathway to the person we will be. Remember we are ever becoming.

Wisdom is the prerequisite of perfecting love,
Truth is the prerequisite of revealed wisdom,
If there is no truth, there is no perfecting love.
Seek truth, wisdom and love will follow.

"When I fall, whether I be friend or foe, stretch forth, help me, dust me off, and send me on my way in love." Yes, Love... The action that surpasses all understanding... The force, that creates forgiveness, in the mist of derision. The virtue, that gives all fallen souls the ability to journey on... and to the sender (the forgiver who's been wronged) the ability to heal, and also grow on.

Every Today was once a Tomorrow,
Every Tomorrow will become Today…
What will you do Today, to influence your Tomorrow?
(January 18, 2010)

Turn down the thermostat! Stop expelling valuable energy! Winterize your heart! Insulate the warmth of your spirit, and conserve yourself (your being) for those who acknowledge your wroth.

My thought for today is a reflection of something my mother always said, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and well meaning people, who never got around to proving the thoughts of their heart". (February 6, 2010)

The grass always looks greener on the other side, but don’t climb the fence, the dog bites, the cat scratches, and the owner is a jack ass.

I would hate to wander through the desert of hope, hungry, only to find the fig tree barren.

What is adequate for one can be inadequate for another, time reveals what is. (February 17, 2010)

We are all more than we believe, if we merely believe.
(February 26, 2010)

To be unpredictable, for some is a challenge of intellect.
To be conventional, for some is deifying creativity.
To be absolutely unique, is a freedom we all seek, at various levels. (February 27, 2010)

We view photo's, we read blogs and status', we agree or disagree, we like or dislike, we study, examine and respond, based on our perceptions of what we believe is communicated and revealed, What you see is not always what you get.
There are times we should use our prudent minds, to take another look, there could be more than what meets the eye.

Yet its well they ended.

Selfishness will tax any relationship, and chronic selflessness taxes the individual.
(March 27, 2010)

Many of us read to locate, take note of, or memorize, that which has been taught unto us. Some of us study to gather information of that which is written, and has been taught unto us, with no intention of questioning its validity.
Others of us locate, take note of, memorize, gather information and are able to rightly divide the written and spoken word, which has been taught unto us, and there confirming or denying its validity. Wisdom is seeking beyond what is taught or understood, to affirm truth.
(March 29, 2010)

We are taught in childhood, not to question, our parents, our elders, and those deemed to have religious authority over us... We are not to lean to our own understandings, and if we find ourselves of another opinion, we are told it is the devil. Therefore withstanding our failure, our unwillingness, our fear to question, that which is questionable, we adhere to a belief passed down but never scrutinize by those we looked to for guidance. We pledge servitude to a belief we ourselves struggle to comprehend, and in so doing, we vaguely acknowledge the God-ness, the creative force within ourselves… (Greater is he that is within U than he that is in the world. (The world meaning, outside of U.)
(March 30, 2010)

Misery loves company, and hurt people hurt people. If folks fail to take the time needed to heal, they will always repeat the cycle of pain. I have found love means different things to different folks, so we must find our definition of love, and apply it as we await the arrival of that mate, whom shares the same definition of love as ourselves.

Love at first, second or third sight is possible.
For U determine the love u will give...
U determine the barriers or limitations U will set.
We don't love because we think others will love us,
We love because we so desire to do so,
Despite whether we are loved in return.
Love at first sight simply means I choose to love this person despite their willingness or lack thereof to love me back...
I will love without seeking a return...
I Love u because I can.
