Black Friday Is Nearing

Personally I haven't done Christmas in twenty years however I will admit Black-Friday 2007 I stood in line for 5 hours to buy my first home computer on the cheap-cheap.  However, afterwards I learned better and once you know better you do better.  I introduced this boycott as a means to enlighten us on our spending power and our ability to use that power to create positive change.  I would love for this to be an ongoing event; where we begin to think more economically and adjust our spending.  We all know this system only understands the dollar.  We have seen for ourselves, our voices, votes and petitions for justice and change are seldom heard.  On the other hand, it is my experience when we extract our funds effecting the corporate bottom lines, then politicians listen.  We have seen evidence time and time again, corporations run the politicians.  Therefore, to establish national change and justice against police brutality, we must have a national movement.  We must rethink or retrain ourselves to spend and consume wisely, we must be the change we desire to impose upon our government and we need to start with the most lucrative season of the year.  This means, those of us who look forward to this season for large purchases and gift giving should rethink the long term goals for justice and change, over consumer consumption. Repatriate Africa... A Social Media Conversation; My Comments

African-Americans have dwelt in America for centuries, not decades, centuries.  The blood, sweat and labor of our ancestors bought us the right to be here on American soil.  This is our home and repatriating Africa while Europe and China continue to rape it of all its mineral resources would be foolish.
This is our land, we have no need to leave we merely need to recognize our power and stand; stand together and create the society we once had.  Recreate our Black Wall Street's, recreate our Wilmington North Carolina's, and recreate our Lovejoy & Brooklyn Illinois.  Recreate the wealth we accumulated before the terrorist bombed Tulsa Oklahoma, before the Red hot summer of 1919 and 1921.

All we need to do is stand and organize our new agendas.  Build our new Black Owned & Operated Financial Institutions.  Develop our own educational schemes and stratagems taught by Black instructors.  American is our land and we must acquire it by the acreages; LAND, LAND, LAND and more LAND...  All we need to do is STAND!!! And not allow our ancestors toils and labor, heartaches and pains, lynchings and deaths be in vain. Why return to Africa when it was our Foreparents who labored causing America to become the nation she is. Black Americans cannot be nor have they ever been racist against any group of people... bias, prejudice, partial, and maybe even bigoted, but never racist... To be a racist one must have the economic power to keep another group of people down.  Not on any continent have Black People had that power, in the last 6 centuries; and to infer we are Racist/Prejudice against our own is preposterous.  Africa will forever be our Biological Mother and despite the absolute cruelty our ancestor experienced, we were fostered here in America and America is where we shall stand.  Sista

BOYCOTT BLACK FRIDAY THE NEW CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT…

This November 28 is BLACK FRIDAY… Black Friday is historically America’s largest shopping day of the year.  Black Friday jumpstarts the holiday shopping season all across America; retailers and outlets look forward to our dollars. Manufacturers, distributors, and brand-named companies and corporations depend on Black Friday to boost their bottom-line.
By Boycotting Black Friday, we can make Big Business work for us.  How you may ask?  We desire political change but lack the funding to support long term lobbying which is needed to effect change.  Big Business however pays professional Lobbyist to lobby the government on its behalf.
If we can rummage the pockets of big business demonstrating the power of our dollars to affect corporate bottom-lines, we can then force big business to lobby for us.  As the saying goes Money Talks and Bull***t walks.

Let us Boycott Black Friday and let it be known Excessive Force and Police Brutality are no longer acceptable…  We too are Americans, and our lives matter.
America’s policing policies must change.  We will no longer be choked hold into submission, tazed for amusement, used as punching bags by officers with mismanaged anger, nor gun down like prey on city streets…
In the words of former Civil Rights Activist Fannie Lou Hamer, “We are sick and tired of being sick and tired.”

Apes Represent Blacks in this Movie; Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Friday July 18th, I ventured out to one of St. Louis’s newer downtown movie theaters; I had been anticipating Dawn of the Planet of the Apes since I learned of it in January. The ticket was twelve dollars and I spent $14 on refreshments, wow, pricey.  Inside the theater, I enjoyed the leather rocking seats designed with couples in mind and the large screen and superb surround sound.  The movie was entertaining and well-orchestrated; had it not been so late in the evening, I would have viewed the movie twice.  I usually watch movies twice, first for the entertainment value and second for critical observation; nonetheless, upon returning home, I posted the movie trailer on my Facebook page along with a simple comment, “Yes I enjoyed this movie.”  As friends do on social media, a friend commented on my post, it was more a cautionary notice than a comment, “Watch it closer.” I asked this friend to inbox me his thoughts, however he posted for all to see.  Funny thing, I knew what his response would be.  He posted, “Apes represent Blacks in this movie”...  This was nothing new; I have heard it all before.
Fifteen years ago, while engaged in a conversation, I mentioned my fascination for all things Planet of the Apes and it was then I was told of racial connotations depicted within Planet of the Apes movies and its series... One friend told me; in the older television shows Gorillas represented Irish Folks because they were responsible for policing society; Chimpanzees represented Asian Folks because they were the scientific body; Orangutans represented White Folks because they were the ruling body and Humans represented the Negro; Black Folks enslaved and imprisoned for medical science, labor, and target practice.  Some years after that, a second friend shared with me in conversation a simpler version, he said, “The Planet of the Apes represent the fears of White Folks and their ideal of society if Black Folks Ruled; Gorillas were uneducated Blacks used as overseers, Chimpanzees were educated Blacks creating the white collar labor force, and Orangutans were the intellectuals of Black society full of talk but never getting their hands dirty.
Before those two conversations, Planet of the Apes was a simple Saturday afternoon flick which entertained the mind of a child who enjoyed the mental escape from a weekend filled with childhood obligations of morning chores and laborious errands. Vera, Cornelius, Caesar and Taylor along with a host of others, whose names I have forgotten, were my weekend heroes.  I was not aware of political propagandas and fears of social decline and terror.  Conversely, these aforementioned conversations caused me to question my awareness and work to expand my consciousness, making mental notes to revisit my memories of the Planet of the Apes.  Why hadn't I been cognizant of these agendas before?
It took me some years to revisit the old Planet of the Apes shows and as they say, when you look for something it will appear.  Cloaked with the information of my two friends, I clearly realized their earlier analysis and wondered what else had I not seen? Should I return to Star Trek and look for the racial over and undertones there as well?
Now days, I am clearer on issues of ethnical intolerance, prejudice, bigotry, the use of religious dogma, the excessive legal system and political improprieties all of which were tucked within those earlier Planet of the Apes Movies and series.  On the subject of “Apes Represent Blacks in This Movie” my response is this…
If the Apes in this movie “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” are representative of us (Black Folks) we have truly developed; we have laid aside our weapons to study war no more. We have learned as a collective body of people to live together in unity and community.  We have declared loyalty to ourselves as a people, refusing to slay one another.  We have taken our education into our own hands, educating our own children, training them in the ways of our people.  We protect our women and children, providing shelter and security, and a place to call home for us all.

If the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is representative of Black Folks, based on the character of Koba, then we (Black Folks) are no different than we already are.  We have learned bigotry from the bigot, war from the warring, intolerance from the intolerant, barbarism from the barbarian and fear has enslaved us so severely we imitate the very contempt and disdain we desired to rid ourselves of and too I say, until we the people (Black Folks) conquer fear, lay aside emotional anger for logic, and break the yokes of religion and economic slavery, we will forever be third class citizens in a nation we helped to build. A SistaSistaSister Affirmation of Opportunity and Preparation.

Shango is the power of the Will. His element is fire. The Odu Ifa says that our Will should be like fire, paving a way for itself as its demands.
My dreams, my goals and my thoughts are my reality, although I do not know my future, I know the accomplishments of my dreams, my goals and my thoughts are within my power and ability to achieve. Each day I take action utilizing every golden opportunity facing me.  My opportunities arise from my preparations, and meet me. Wealth and riches are the children of opportunity and preparation; they visit me daily.  My mind, my body and my spirit receive these children of opportunity and preparation, and I am much wiser, joyful and peaceful.  I know the eternal energy which I call GOD dwells in me and allows opportunity to rise from me to meet my preparations; and for this I am grateful... ©2014 SistaSistaSister Affirmation of Opportunity and Preparation.

Another Generation For The Purpose of War, Free Labor and False Religions

http://www.pinterest.com/k9knitknots/old-school-houses-churches/
The article prompting my thoughts. http://www.nairaland.com/977173/why-did-christian-missionaries-claim

Even when I was church'ing it; I did not trust organizations like the 700 club, offering starving children in distant lands food while imposing a religious burden. Imposing non-violently but forceful all the same. Jesus feeding the multitude on overhead projectors, frame after frame, inculcating innocent brains while half empty stomachs wrench in pain.  These missionary organizations are no better than those entities who slays a Child's parents before the child's eyes and force the child into soldiering...
Child solider is the key here...

At this point in my life Religion and War are the same reprehensible forces.  These Children are forced into a lifestyle, or a belief system, not of their own choosing.  These Children are forced by fear or famine to accept a way of life imposed by government, fascism, terror and/or religion. With limited education, understanding or critical thinking skills, these children are victims of circumstance.  They grow into young men still victims of circumstance.  Once these children are old enough to be counted as adults, we (western/european culture) wrongfully charge these children as war criminals.  Once they come of age, they are still unlearned except in the deluge of war and though their bodies are framed as men, their only reference is war.  How do we charge them with war when war was their only option?
THE POWERS THAT BE have cultivated another generation for the purpose of war, free labor and false religions. ©2014 Sista

Missing The Thrill of The Ride

Superman Escape From Krypton Six Flags
God, a roller coaster!!! I love a roller coaster; I miss them like missing a good friend who moved away and all we have are random video chats (commercials).  I have asked a hundred times are more can I ride a roller coaster with this ICD in my chest and all I get is the run around.   Neither Medtronic nor the Doctors can give me a reasonable answer; each one continues to tell me to call the other.  The ICD was supposed to improve the quality of my life, at least I was told, but for me, what is life if the things you once enjoyed aren't recommended, Sex, Roller Coasters, Bumper Cars, and Weight Training... I'm not ready to be sedentary, I am merely 47 and I can still run jump skip hop and play... perhaps a little slower but I can play... except play is no fun without playmates. Seems some folks fear the inevitability of my defect more than I do.  Anywho… Back to roller coasters; I am soo tempted to go to Six Flags and climb aboard every roller coaster standing.  It has been years and I am longing for the trill of the ride. ©2014 SistaSistaSister

Freeganism: There was a time I was embarrassed.

When I was a child my mother learned the Tomboy store in our neighborhood would throw-out perfectly good loaves of bread every Wednesday night; therefore every Wednesday night after the world had fallen asleep, there we were roaming threw dumpsters for bread and anything else Tomboy or National Food store had thrown out...

County grocery stores (Jennings, Ladue, Clayton, and Webster Groves) threw out crab legs, hamburger patties, and steaks all neatly contained in vacuum sealed bags. Back then you could not pay me to reveal this information due to my embarrassment, nonetheless, despite my embarrassment, it was also fun.

We were always amazed at the food we found and how it tastes the same as any other food.  Side note, I think Momma was just as embarrassed; she always sat in the car while we (Momma's 4) did the dirty work.  I can laugh now and am considering this as an adventure to share with my Granddaughters, while on summer break.  May need to leave the state to find open dumpsters and minimize embarrassment... Generations of pilfering and pillaging by colonizers and occupiers have left many African countries vulnerable to GMO Food Barons...

Generations of pilfering and pillaging have left many African countries vulnerable; vulnerable to sickness and disease, due to hunger and starvation leaving the children to suffer most; now these young ones will be preyed upon again; genetically engineered food swimming in their bellies. Isn't it a shame how corporations, and The 1%'er's, pull on our heart strings and cause us to say yes to things we usually see as bad, unhealthy, and unsafe?
We become conflicted and compromise our thoughts.  Yes, I want those children to eat as well as my children are able to eat.  I want their health and safety as much as I desire the health and safety of my own child.
Years ago I was cornered in a mall, for a survey about poverty and food production I was told.  I told the woman I knew nothing (honestly, I was not as well read as I am now on genetically altered foods) and then she offered a 5 dollar gift card... I refused... She then offered a 10 gift card to a shopping store, I refused.  The woman was very forceful in wanting me to take this survey. Finally she offered me a 10 gift card to Red Lobster.  I sold my soul for Red Lobster.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jun/16/scientists-bend-banana-genome-to-help-children-overcome-vitamin-a-deficiency
After agreeing to the survey test, I was taken into a small white room with a chair a desk and a television monitor set into the desk. They showed me hungry starving children, with bald heads, bulging eyes and protruding bellies; followed by Americans emerald fields of green; Corn fields, Soybean fields, Oat fields, and Rice fields; followed by more images of Apple Trees, Oranges Trees, Pomegranate Trees and more.  They asked question like would you deny these children the same nutritious food your child eat.  NO!  If science found a way to get healthy nutritious food to thousands of hungry starving children would you agree? YES!

There were at least 50 questions all more twisted in structure than the other.  I remember even then I was against genetically modified foods which would cross breed plants with animals.  However they twisted those questions every way possible for you to really say, “Yes, it is okay to give genetically modified food, to starving children that they too may have a wholesome and satisfying meal.   When I later learned; 21 years later, how science is cross breeding plant and animal cellular structure to create GMO's; my mind flashed back to that day, and how my vote may have played a part in allowing GMO's on to the tables of the unsuspecting.

Western Education & Islamist Rule... Just My Thoughts

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-13809501
"The settler makes history and is conscious of making it. And because he constantly refers to the history of his mother country, he clearly indicates that he himself is the extension of that mother-country. Thus the history which he writes is not the history of the country which he plunders but the history of his own nation in regard to all that she skims off, all that she violates and starves.” Frantz Fanon, The Wretched of the Earth.  BBC News Excerpt: They still refuse to send their children to government-run "Western schools", a problem compounded by the ruling elite which does not see education as a priority.

Sista: Could it be, they simply do not see Western Education as a priority?  Could it be they are tired of European History telling the story of their existence?  Why are we told there was no history of us until Western civilization penned it? The kidnapping of these children, these 270 young girls, and the militant Islamist group holding them, (if this all be true) then this is just the tip of the iceberg, of all that ails Africa under European and now Asia Rule... Again (we are) Africa is in the public eye as savages and barbarians, making ruin of their own... I am sure this Islamist groups happening’s is a result of many past lessons, passed on by-way of Europe and Now Asia OCCUPYING AFRICA. EUROPEAN OCCUPATION DATES BACK AS FAR AS THE 1400's; maybe earlier- MINING NATURAL RESOURCES STRIPING AND RAPING THE ENTIRE CONTINENT OF IT'S RAW MATERIALS AND KILLING BY-WAY OF SICKNESS AND DISEASE: AIDS, HIV, ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT TUBERCULOUS AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING; WHO pray tell would desire Western Education after all of that; other than us Africans Born In America?

The Summer Of 1980 When Chucky Dale and David Became Heroes

The world has become so desensitized since I was 13. I recall the summer of 1980, this particular summer day was partly cloudy and somewhat breezy.   From two blocks away, Sound Town Music Record Store, blasted the lasts vinyl albums playing music hits dating from 1970-1980.  The music reverberated off the walls of the Catholic School as we snapped our finger, danced, talked, laughed and sang.  That summer three of our neighbors emerged as heroes; but listen how the story goes.  The front was grouped off by age, relations or friends, all of us Cindy, Co-Co, Wilda, Mary,  Kathy Rhodes, Me, Jo, and Sandra Owens’nhem from down the block and the Miller’s from across the alley were enjoying the tunes from Sound Town.. The music was so clear; one would think they were sitting right inside the record store.  Perhaps it was the breeze or maybe the music or possibly both which had us all out conversing and laughing and playing and joking. Whatever it was, we were outside enjoying ourselves.  Suddenly there was a full halt; the music became back ground sound as we heard a woman yelling, “STOP HIM! SOMEBODY STOP HIM!”
At full sprint a young man comes running through the alley way between Mr. Brown’s house and the vacant lot next door to our house.  A young woman was directly behind him by 5 to 7 seconds and screaming, “STOP HIM! STOP HIM! HE TOOK MY PURSE!!!”   Lori Collins brothers Chucky and Dale and their live-in cousin David, leapt from the Collin’s front porch in full stride, passing the young woman, and capturing the young man on the church lawn, just before he reached the corner of Margaretta and Clarence, nearly a full block away.  From my understanding, the young woman was about to enter National’s Food Store, when the young man snatched her purse off her shoulders... I bet he never though, Sister Girl would become a track star wearing those 2 or 3 inch hills but Sister Girl could run, in addition I bet he never thought anyone would come to her aid; brother man received a rude awakening that day.  Truly our world has changed...  Thank U Michael, for the share, it amazes me the things which jog my memory.

Lesson Drawn From The Allegory Of Dry Bones: Ezekiel 37

[A]s I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And when I beheld, lo, sinews and flesh came up upon them, and skin covered them head to toe: but there was no breath in them. Prophesy unto the winds, prophesy, "Come, breath, of the four winds and breathe into these here slain, that they may live." I prophesied, and breath came into them; those once mere dry bones now lived, and stood up; upon their feet, an exceeding great army. (KJV)

Anyone who touches the life of another has the ability to breathe new life into those whom they touch, thus allowing them to live a more awakened life and stand on their own two feet.  Once awakened surely we will become and exceeding great army of Conscious folks entreating our fellow citizens with unadulterated LOVE, Peace & Liberty.

So here I go:  One of the things on my Bucket List is a Broadway Play, therefore, I am placing a request out into the Universe via my Heart felt thoughts and the World Wide Web; I am mindful of Divine Energy the Source of ALL Creation, which we call GOD.   I trust my request is provided and I am thankful in advance.  Oh what is my request? Mr. Perry, I ask what doors of opportunity are open under Tyler Perry’s INK-Well?

Hello Mr. Perry,
It is my hope this Note finds you well, and in good spirits.
For sake of time, I will do my best to make this Note as short and concise as possible.  First thank U for sharing your talent with the world and giving us moments of laughter, moments of tears, and moment of sheer inspiration.  Most of all Mr. Perry, thank U for those moments when U used your talent to hold a mirror to our faces, forcing us to revisit the consequences of our deeds.

There are very few theatrical shows capable of inciting self reflection and self examination; I will add, especially within our community.  You know that community, where bullets fly like eagle through the sky, missing sometimes but other times hitting innocent passerby's.  You know that community where the so called minorities are truly the majority and they (whoever they be) feed us lies, like politicians take bribes.

You know that community where poverty and crime is described every evening on the five o’clock news, where Lethrelle did a drive by, Monesha stole a ten dollar bag of weave, and Georgedella just had her third child and she’s only seventeen. You know that community.    There are few if any shows which allow us to visit true issues with a comedic twist in our community. Cause we all know we gots’ta laugh to keep from crying.

Then again as our old friend once said “I am talking to the man in the mirror, I’m asking him to change his ways; and no message could be any clearer; U’ve gotta look at yourself, and make that change.”  Mr. Perry, for many in our community your shows and plays are the mirror; your dialog is the message and your body of work causes us to look at ourselves; I simply hope we will look long enough and hard enough to make that change.
Now let’s get to the meat and potatoes of this note.  Mr. Perry, have U considered a Tyler Perry Writing Challenge?  I wrote U a year ago, on this same date, asking this same question to no avail. Then again, all I have is Local Television and Internet Television, U know (Hulu & Netflix).

Nonetheless, as I was saying before digressing; there must be multitudes of writers out here wishing for, hoping for, and working for or toward publication, and acknowledgment. You know acknowledgment of their creative genius; but they lack the opportunity which usually meets preparation, but for some reason preparation took a vacation and did not leave a forwarding email address or a, “I am out of the office indefinitely” message. I know there must be thousands of young as well as older men and women itching at a chanced opportunity to work with U or to be evaluated by U.  So Mr. Perry, I ask what doors of opportunity are open under Tyler Perry’s INK-Well?

Me personally I have only one published poem, but more than a few thousand Sista-quotes, Sista-poems, Sista-ponderings and Sista-social views, that lay here in unopened envelopes; some are certified return receipt mail, cause I take my “Poor Woman’s Copyrights” serious.  To be honest Mr. Perry I write very, very well and I would love the challenge of a writing contest, something which allows me to stretch and grow as a writer.

In high school I had and English instructor who upon entering the class room wrote a single phrase or sentence, and we the students had the first ten minute of class to write a; one page, narrow ruler, back and front, hand written story or poem beginning with that one single phrase or sentence.  I loved it, because it challenged me and I am always at my best when challenged…  If you are anything like me, being a September 14th Virgo like me, then you also offer your best work when challenged.

Mr. Tyler Perry I, Kim Daniel aka SistaSistaSister, am challenging you to put together a writing contest for the hundreds of thousands of fans and admirers who have followed you over the years and Mr. Perry make the contest so well known, that even us, none cable television people (me) who only view their computer screens, will know Tyler Perry is challenging all novice and prolific writers to an out of the box into the ink-well writing contest.

I haven’t written a play since I was seventeen.  I won first place, three years straight.  My job after winning was production direction and starting in my own play.  Back then and even now I was/am a behind the scenes person, but vacation bible school was no joke.  “You better standup for the LORD and do that thing”, as Sistah So-N-So said, the day I said, I’ll be in the background. Why did I say that?  But that’s a tale for another day.

Anywho, Mr. Perry, if you would like to view my scribbling’s beyond this long/short note, you are welcome to follow my links below, and read me from beginning to end.  A friend told me my writings are like the KODAK MOMENT of words.  Well I don’t know about all of that, but I do know sometimes I shock myself.  So stop by, take a look, and let me know.  I have no problems with constructive criticism, and I have no problem being in boxed…
In the meantime
Namaste Mr. Perry
Best Regards Kim Daniel aka SistaSistaSister

Sista's Poem for Lisa Kristine's Photos That Bear Witness To Modern Slavery

Images so strong and sorrow so deep,
I am frozen in the limitation of my words,
A vocabulary so insufficient to capture the screams
Inside of me that bleed insufficiently through my fingers
Please let us end slavery, how much more inhumane
Can we be, this lost, this greedy, and so blind
We cannot see these are Hue-man's just as U and Me.
As I viewed the images on my screen,
Part of me said thank U it wasn't Me,
But don't U see, that thinking is
What is wrong with this entire thing
We view ourselves separately
I am not U and U are not Me, but if there be
But one CREATOR whom created U and Me,
Then that creative energy is the same in U as well as Me.
Now think this thing through
If the CREATOR/CREATIVE ENERGY
Dwells in U and In me too, then surely Creation/CREATOR
Dwells in the enslaved of this mini-documentary.

Forty-Acres & A John Deer

Forty-Acres & A John Deer

U.N. Report Chastises U.S. for Status of Native Population:
Where is the U.N. Report Chastising the U.S for its Status of African Americans, starting from the wronging of John Punch 1640 to the convict leasing laws of 1865, onward to the Jim Crow Laws of 1876, inciting the riotous destruction of Black Wall Street and other towns and cities in the red hot summer of 1919, leading to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, as well the Redlining and Zoning Laws of the late 1970's and let us not forget the present Privatization of Prisons and other subject matters brought to light by Michelle Alexander’s Book "The New Jim Crow".
Slavery has not ended, inquire of the 13th amendment of the U.S. constitution or better yet examine U.S. drug laws and sentencing. Surely the U.N. can see as I see and recognize there is reason to chastise the U.S. on behalf of all descendants of enslaved Africans in America. Surely our timelines cross, as our bloodlines mix.  Did the U.N. not see us?
How could the U.N. Chastises on behalf of one and not the other.  Seems like a respect of persons or better stated a disrespect of persons.  Do not get me wrong I possess the lineage of the indigenous of America (proven) as well as the heritage of enslaved Africans in America, thus I am grateful for the United Nations chastisement of the U.S. on behalf of my Native American Families, for this gesture is long overdue.
However, it baffles me that the U.N. did not examine the timeline and validate the wrong besieged upon Africans in America and all their offspring, be-they Native & Black, White & Black or African & African-American.  It seems no-one other than African Americans (Black-Folks) are sending out the battle cry of restitution for services rendered, for centuries of free labor.
Black People have been the bottom man on the totem-pole, the foundation, the strong back, nibble fingers, and enduring labor, of American capitalism. The U.N. report submitted by James Anaya, United Nations Official to the U.S. Government Washington D.C. September 20 2012
Excerpt 1: "The Special Rapporteur concludes that indigenous peoples in the United States – including American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian peoples – constitute vibrant communities that have contributed greatly to the life of the country; yet they face significant challenges that are related to widespread historical wrongs, including broken treaties and acts of oppression, and misguided government policies, that today manifest themselves in various indicators of disadvantage and impediments to the exercise of their individual and collective rights.”
Now doesn’t this read like a slogan for “POST TRAUMATIC COLONIZATION, LAND-GRABBING and TRAIL OF TEARS SYNDROME”?
Not to take away from my Indigenous Family yet on behalf of my African-American roots, the question is how do they dismiss the plight of Black African-Americans?  [Black African-Americans too] "constitute vibrant communities that have contributed greatly to the life of the country; yet they face significant challenges that are related to widespread historical wrongs, including broken treaties and acts of oppression, and misguided government policies, that today manifest themselves in various indicators of disadvantage and impediments to the exercise of their individual and collective rights."  How do they not apply these very words to the disenfranchised African American (Black) People?
Perhaps no within the U.N. acquainted themselves with the works of Dr. Joy DeGruy-Leary “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome”. We as Africans in America are again overlooked.  No chastisement on behalf of the formally enslaved African-American Population, thus no reparations, no 40 acres and a mule, no newly revamped government policies or money earmarked for our disadvantages or ongoing impediments limiting the exercise of  our individual and collective rights.  The same 400 year study by the United Nations, which brought about the chastisement upon the United States, should also reflect our 400 years.
We the descendants of Africans brought to the America’s for chatteled enslavement go without mention, as our U.S. President Barack Obama has now earmarked funds and enacted policies that will improve the status of my Native American Families, leaving my African-American Families a contending under-class, as we the working classed and many of the imprisoned continue shoring-up capitalistic America;

Are Our SmartTV's Watching Us?

Question? How many of us use our televisions in the privacy of our bedrooms? Now what if while watching television, it is watching you; literally... Once upon a time we were analog, and we loosely coined the phrase; "I laid down to watch television, but the television was really watching me". Well Ladies and Gents the phase is absolutely literal now! So watch your SmartTV's; literally.

My Thought for the Day Copyright © 2010

Sometimes we stumble;
Sometimes faith is betrayed;
Sometimes the mistakes we make
are the stones it takes, to build a pathway to the person we will be. Remember we are ever becoming.
(January 08, 2010)

Wisdom is the prerequisite of perfecting love,
Truth is the prerequisite of revealed wisdom,
If there is no truth, there is no perfecting love.
Seek truth, wisdom and love will follow.
(January 10, 2010)

"When I fall, whether I be friend or foe, stretch forth, help me, dust me off, and send me on my way in love." Yes, Love... The action that surpasses all understanding... The force, that creates forgiveness, in the mist of derision. The virtue, that gives all fallen souls the ability to journey on... and to the sender (the forgiver who's been wronged) the ability to heal, and also grow on.

Every Today was once a Tomorrow,
Every Tomorrow will become Today…
What will you do Today, to influence your Tomorrow?
(January 18, 2010)

Turn down the thermostat! Stop expelling valuable energy! Winterize your heart! Insulate the warmth of your spirit, and conserve yourself (your being) for those who acknowledge your wroth.

My thought for today is a reflection of something my mother always said, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and well meaning people, who never got around to proving the thoughts of their heart". (February 6, 2010)

The grass always looks greener on the other side, but don’t climb the fence, the dog bites, the cat scratches, and the owner is a jack ass.
(February 7, 2010)

I would hate to wander through the desert of hope, hungry, only to find the fig tree barren.
(February 10, 2010)

What is adequate for one can be inadequate for another, time reveals what is. (February 17, 2010)

We are all more than we believe, if we merely believe.
(February 26, 2010)

To be unpredictable, for some is a challenge of intellect.
To be conventional, for some is deifying creativity.
To be absolutely unique, is a freedom we all seek, at various levels. (February 27, 2010)

We view photo's, we read blogs and status', we agree or disagree, we like or dislike, we study, examine and respond, based on our perceptions of what we believe is communicated and revealed, What you see is not always what you get.
There are times we should use our prudent minds, to take another look, there could be more than what meets the eye.
(March 7, 2010)

Things don't always End Well,
Yet its well they ended.
(March 17, 2010)

Women, we are always told, we talk to much, so men created Facebook, Texting & Twitter, to teach us to be direct and to the point. Please say it in 140 - 420 characters or less…
(March 18, 2010)

S H I N E !!! Even in your darkness shine.
Those who need your light will see it. S H I N E!!!
(March 20, 2010)

Selfishness will tax any relationship, and chronic selflessness taxes the individual.
(March 27, 2010)

Many of us read to locate, take note of, or memorize, that which has been taught unto us. Some of us study to gather information of that which is written, and has been taught unto us, with no intention of questioning its validity.
Others of us locate, take note of, memorize, gather information and are able to rightly divide the written and spoken word, which has been taught unto us, and there confirming or denying its validity. Wisdom is seeking beyond what is taught or understood, to affirm truth.
(March 29, 2010)

We are taught in childhood, not to question, our parents, our elders, and those deemed to have religious authority over us... We are not to lean to our own understandings, and if we find ourselves of another opinion, we are told it is the devil. Therefore withstanding our failure, our unwillingness, our fear to question, that which is questionable, we adhere to a belief passed down but never scrutinize by those we looked to for guidance. We pledge servitude to a belief we ourselves struggle to comprehend, and in so doing, we vaguely acknowledge the God-ness, the creative force within ourselves… (Greater is he that is within U than he that is in the world. (The world meaning, outside of U.)
(March 30, 2010)

Misery loves company, and hurt people hurt people. If folks fail to take the time needed to heal, they will always repeat the cycle of pain. I have found love means different things to different folks, so we must find our definition of love, and apply it as we await the arrival of that mate, whom shares the same definition of love as ourselves.
“Can two walk together, except they agree" Amos 3:3

Normal isn't fun....
Sanity has no adventure... and when U go crazy,
there are no valid excuses... I'm staying crazy...
(April 24, 2010)

Not every Hello is permanent,
and not every Goodbye forever...
time is the common denominator.

Allergies are like sucker punches,
there aren't any warnings,
and you're never prepared....
(May 3, 2010)

There must be balance… as you will learn;
your success is no more superior than your greatest failure.

Reggie Arnold THOUGHT: you have to love some people from a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng distance. Help yourself before you extend too far, there may not be enough rope left..
(May 8, 2010)

God always places the answer within us...
We must be still enough to hear, and wise enough to listen....
(May 18, 2010)

soap & water don't make U clean..
it just makes U washed...
so watch U'r deeds...
(May 27, 2010)

Love at first, second or third sight is possible.
For U determine the love u will give...
U determine the barriers or limitations U will set.
We don't love because we think others will love us,
We love because we so desire to do so,
Despite whether we are loved in return.
Love at first sight simply means I choose to love this person despite their willingness or lack thereof to love me back...
I will love without seeking a return...
I Love u because I can.

All Life's lessons can't be learned in a day,
so slow down and pace yourself,
it's not that kind of race. ~Sista

It would seems at some point we should graduate
from believing to knowing...
Are U ready for your cap and gown?

(July 29, 2010)

One should not work to maintain faith,
If you’re working, you are working in fear,
For faith and knowing, just is.

(September 3, 2010)

Rummaging through the closets of my memory, I found U.
Just like old times, we laughed and smile, and joke for awhile, then the phone rang, and guest what, it was U... (September 29, 2010)
